This report studies the brightness, colors and layout of the lights in a wooden house. The purpose of our lighting design is to produce the natural darkness of night without laying out lights more than necessary at night, in contrast to the bright luminous environment in the daytime. To produce such darkness, the lighting design has to be in close accordance with the acts of residents as well as the passage of time. For that purpose, we varied the light source mounting heights and adjusted the illumination level and color temperature by a dimmer control. The result has shown that the lighting of the house on which we experimented is designed to comfortable darkness, which enables the natural light rhythm to be incorporated into daily life.
