This paper describes the results of the auditory experiments related to the room acoustics for speech transmission using an actual multi-purpose hall which have the sound reinforcement system. Three factors, that is, the hearing lo-cation, the kind of speech source and the sound reinforcement condition, affecting the speech transmission in the hall were systematically investigated. As a result, it was confirned that there was not so much relation between the hearing feeling and the physical index such as STI (speech transmission index) because of the effect of those three factors. Secondly, it was found that the hearing feeling in the hall was greatly influenced by the sound volume feeling.
