Systematization of design method based on primitive processes and their principles

Abstract

The traditional design method is modeled by abstracting and generalizing the design activities. In this paper, a new approach to systematizing the design method is proposed, which focuses on the primitive processes of design and their principles. First, the problem in the traditional approach is analyzed. Second, four primitive processes and principles are determined as the basis of the new approach. Third, the nature of the traditional design method is discussed from the viewpoint of the new approach.
