Proposal of Natural User Interface using RFID textile

Abstract

In order to realize natural user interface which access to information with unobtrusive way under everyday life, we propose “Smart Noren” system. The system consists of RFID textile and textile antenna. By closely contacting these materials, detecting unique ID that RFID memorizes is possible. We made Kimono (Yukata) and Curtain (Noren) as a prototype system of detecting enter and leave a place in hot spa resorts. Preliminary experiments result that it detects a person who walks within 1m/ sec and durable textile antenna also detects orientation of the   person.
