Abstract
Routes and guidelines are still insufficient for the evacuation of inhabitants from tsunami in coastal areas of Japan. This research pursued a sign guidance system to evacuate inhabitants who live in the Pacific coastal area of Natori, Miyagi Prefecture in the event of a tsunami. Our basic plan contains the evacuation route and the residential area (named Wanaka) where inhabitants could safely live on the coastal area. We also designed a sign guidance system using LED techniques to evacuate the inhabitants.
