Abstract

there are two old sake breweries with a long history in business dating back in the middle of edo  period (18th century) or earlier, namely sakai meijo co., ltd. in chikuma city, nagano prefecture, and taruhei shuzo co., ltd. in kawanishi-machi, yamagata prefecture. both of them are maintaining thescenery to date, typical of breweries, consisting of a main house with thatched roof and a clusterof sake cellars. here, scenic characteristics common in two sake breweries are considered.
