Abstract

This study examines the decline of conceptual thinking in the East Asian Sinographic cultural sphere in the AI era. The expansion of digital environments and the reduced use of Chinese characters may influence abstract conceptual understanding and semantic processing. Through comparative analysis of Japan, Korea, and China, this study explores how changes in character literacy affect conceptual vocabulary, AI utilization, and critical reasoning. The findings suggest that Sinographic literacy may function as a cognitive foundation for conceptual thinking and highlight the need for new character education approaches in the AI era.
