Social economy in Japan has been enormously developed since the end of the Second War. It has been also recognized generally that the development has been mainly supported by introduction and application of advanced science and technology in the West. In fact, Japan's technic trade with the West has been an extremely unfavorable balance of trade. We are now faced with a troublesome situation in technology innovation, because we must create a new technology by our own ability. In order to overcome it, a drastic reform in production system, education and research structure will be required. It will be improvement of science education that is most important and effective in them. Here, new science education setting a high value on creativity and individual character is desirable.
