A method of multidimensional evaluation of pupils attainments in scholarship is proposed. In this method, scholastic attainments are evaluated with respect to several "evaluation-items" such as fundamental understanding of formulae and definitions, ability to use the already aquired knowledge in practice, ability to calculate, etc. Pupils are required to answer to usual construction and essay type test problems in which several "evaluation-points" are previously prepared and each evaluation-point belongs to an evaluation-item. Answers by pupils are assessed with respect to these evaluation points. Temporary score "1" or "0" is given for each evaluation-point according to teacher's judgement of correct or wrong to pupil's answers. These temporary scores are transformed for each evaluation-point into "S-score" with use of obtained distribution of these temporary scores themselves. Thus obtained S-scores are accumulated for many evaluation-points which belong to the same evaluation-item for the purpose of multidimensional and long term evaluation of pupils attainments in scholarship. In order to put this evaluation method into practice, a simple and practical evaluation system aided with a microcomputer has been developed. Observed results in a practical application of this evaluation system to high school mathematics are briefly reported.
