Rader “V” Screen started up successfully in Ebetsu Mill, Oji Paper Co., Ltd. in June, 1981. This new type chipscreen, developed by Rader Corporation in U.S.A. controls the chip thickness. Screened over thick chips are sliced to proper thickness.
After operating this chip screen, knots and shivers in pulp from continuous digester has been decreased to one third and we had been able to increase Kappa number to desirable level.
As result, chip thickness control has provided the benefit of rising in pulp yield, saving in chemicals and improving in pulp quality.
