To select a de-watering equipment of fiber stock it is necessary to consider investment cost of equipment, power consumption, space requirement, consistency of filtrate and maintenance cost etc. In general Valveless Filters and Suction Filters are applied as thickener after screening or cleaning stage in these days. Or sometimes they are used as combination system with extractors for pre-thickening. In such cases specially for de-watering of low freeness or low consistency stock the required size of equipment and space are fairly large.
Disk Thickener has been developed to offer one solution to above. The first unit of Disk Thickener had delivered in 1978 and today 33 units are under operation in major pulp and paper mills in Japan.
