The #9 paper machine at Tomioka Mill was put into commercial operation in March 1980. This paper machine, comprising a wire part of Valmet Sym-Former F which was the first experience in Japan at that time, Produces 240 metric tons daily of bace stock for lightweight coated paper with a maximum speed of 850 meters per minute. The twin-wire machine was also new to Kanzaki. We would like here to introduce some of our experiences with the Steady flow nozzle and Sym-Former F. based on our 3 years' operation.
