Abstract
While single mother household's income is just a fraction of that of general households, hence housing expenses for housing still much of a burden for single mother households to manage under the market-oriented housing provision. Therefore their limited economic status relegate them to cheaper, lower quality housing These conditions differ in a big city and a suburb. This study aims to understand single mother household's housing situation from ①selection of a place of residence, ②the conditions of child-rearing and working, ③minimum housing standard, ④the rate of a housing-expenses burden aspects and these regional gap.
