Abstract

Exploring the possibility of heating using the fermentation heat of fallen leaves 　During the winter in Hokkaido, we carried out an art project named “Billboard House”. This paper is a description of an experiment conducted in that house to make a heating system using the fermentation of fallen leaves. The author added ingredients such as chicken manure and rice bran to fallen leaves and stirred them to generate fermentation heat. Even in an environment where the temperature drops below -5 degrees, the author was able to get enough warmth to sleep. In the future, in order to improve the reproducibility of experiments, we plan to continue activities that are more locally rooted.
