The authors tried to apply a “secondary hepatectomy method” to the hepatopathy (tumor, hepatophyma, injury, etc.) in dogs. For this purpose, it is important to know the accurate bifurcation-form of the vena portae and the extent of the lobe that is under the control of the vein. In addition, it is necessary to determine the ratio of the weight of each lobe to that of the whole liver of the dog. The former was examined in 5 healthy dogs, and the latter in 30 healthy dogs. The results are tabulated as follows.
