Five Holsteins were fed such an amount of chopped fresh bracken leaves and stems as corresponding to 1% of body weight every day to produce experimental bracken poisoning. Disturbance in blood coagulation was observed in them. It was concluded that the decrease in count and dysfunction of blood platelets, the increase in circulating anticoagulant, and the disturbance of hepatogenic factor caused by the hepatic dysfunction might play an important role in the occurrence of disturbance in blood coagulation.
