A female cat was involved in a traffic accident and had the urinary bladder ruptured. Surgical operation was performed on her. An incision about 3cm long was made on the median line with the ultimate teat as its center. Ascites (urine) was washed off with peritoneal irrigation solution heated at 40°C.
The rupture of the bladder was closed by Lembert's double suture. A urethral catheter was inserted into the bladder to prevent re-rupture and fixed on the skin of the hiatus. Antibiotic and hemostatic were administered. The catheter was removed and the stitches were taken out 7 days after operation before recovery was reached satisfactorily.
