Abstract
Therapeutic induction of endogenous tumor necrosis factor (TNF) was applied to three aged female cats with mammary tumors. In a case of adenocarcinoma with lung metastasis, the mammary tumor remarkably reduced in size on the 7th day post-therapy, showing coagulation necrosis with decreased pleural effusion and improved general conditions. In two other cases, the tumors significantly reduced in size after TNF induction. TNF activity was detectable from the tumor effusion.
