Cigarette smoke technique was used to visualize flow pattern of an air jet ejected into a transparent rotating cylinder.
The jet flow has shown clearly the so-called cylindrical pattern, of which axis is in parallel with that of rotating cylinder. The pattern was found to be the one which is known generally as a special phenomenon due to Taylor-Proudman theorem.
