"The ASUKA" is a Short Take Off and Landing(STOL) Research Aircraft developed by National Aerospace Laboratory. One of the unique features of the aircraft is the boundary layer control (BLC) system for the outboard wing leading edges and ailerons, using high presure engine bleed. BLC air is discharged in a series of discrete jets from small drilled holres. This videos shows the BLC air jet flow on the ailerons surfaces visualized by tuft photographs and infrared thermal cameras during graund tests of the aircraft.
