To clarify relationship between the surface structures of electrodes and its catalytic activity, many efforts of researches were made by using metal single crystal electrodes and nanoparticles. However, to understand the essential its properties, in-situ measurement of electrocatalytic reaction behavior in atomic scale is required. In this study, we aim to investigate the adlayer structure and deposition behavior of platinum complexes on gold single crystal electrodes, to evaluate its catalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction, and to clarify the relationship between the structure and catalytic activity of platinum particles by electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (EC-STM).
