In 2011, we used yellow sticky traps to investigate seasonal changes in adults of the exotic pest Aleurocanthus camelliae Kanmiya and Kasai in tea fields where the pest was first discovered in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The pest was discovered for the first time in the Kikugawa region in October 2010, and subsequently in the Iwata region in November 2010. From April to November 2011, monitoring traps were set in three fields in Kikugawa and two fields of Iwata. In all the fields investigated, captures of adults showed the following four peaks: the beginning of May, the middle of July, the beginning of September, and the middle or end of October. In each area, the first and second peak days were the same in each field, although the third and fourth peak days varied among fields within the same area. Pruning after the first plucking of tea suppressed the occurrence of the pest during the following 2 or 3 months.
