Because of the fast frequency response of the constant-temperature anemometer (CTA), it is useful for the measurement of the velocity fluctuation in turbulent flows. The paper proposes a method for attaining faster frequency response of the CTA to turbulent velocity fluctuations. Experimental calibrations show that the rolloff frequency of CTA can be improved from 5 kHz to 20 kHz by the present method under the condition that the diamter of the hot-wire is 5 μm and the velocity of the flow is 20 m/s.
