Plums damaged by Grapholita dimorpha were collected periodically and incubated at 25℃ under a photoperiod of 16L:8D to determine the oviposition and adult emergence periods. The extent of fruit damage was small until early July, which is the time when adults of the overwintering generation are estimated to oviposit, and increased from late July to early August, which is the time when adults of the first generation emerge and are estimated to oviposit. Insects in apples collected in early September were estimated to be oviposited from late August to early September, which is the time when adults of the second generation are caught on pheromone traps.
