Three of 168 garlic plants from seedbulbs obtained from diseased plants developed white rot symptoms only when the seed bulbs were not separated into lateral bulbs. From the results of artificial inoculations, all underground parts of garlic plants seemed to play a role of the site of infection by Sclerotium cepivorum.
