The daily surveys by CO2-lured net trap for 11: 00-12: 00 were performed three hundred and forty-five times during 1982 and 1983, and all day long surveys by the same trap were done for three or four days per month from April to November in 1983. Twenty species belonging to 5 genera were collected in total. Tabanus nipponicus showed a flight activity from late June to late August and to be a dominant species (ca. 50% of total) followed by T. fulvimedioides of which activity was from late June to early August, and Hirosia (former genus: Tabanus) humilis from late July to late August. Total individuals of these three species showed more than 80% of the whole. The first species proved to be of diurnal type, and the other two of crepuscular type. Considerable variation in the diurnal activity of tabanids among months were concluded to result from the succession of each species according with season.
