Abstract
Poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) was dissolved in cyclohexanone (c-HEXO) by heating above the PVDF melting temperature in a sealed glass tube. The solution was cooled to room temperature, and then heated again to the temperature of 85-130°C. After these treatments, thermoreversible gels of PVDF were formed in c-HEXO at room temperature. The FT-IR spectra of the gel formation process were recorded at different times at room temperature. The appearance of structural characteristic bands and their intensities in the region of 600-400cm-1 show that the conformations of PVDF gels in c-HEXO are trans (T) -gauche (G) (α-form). The spectra show increase of the intensities of the 532 and 490 cm-1. In this case, the α-form of PVDF is formed in c-HEXO at the gelation.
