The Diary of Sanuki no Suke is a work written mainly about the death of Emperor Horikawa, and the
uniqueness of its subject matter is often pointed out. However, this is not a fair assessment. In this paper, I
will focus on the skillful development of the scenes and attempt to give it a fair assessment.
In the work, "noise" and "silence" alternate like waves, expressing tension and relaxation. The purpose is to fairly evaluate the author's ability to describe such things.
