In October 2021, an individual of unidentified Miridae was captured at a yellow sticky trap set in the field in Tachikawa City, Tokyo, and identified as Nesidiocoris tenuis. In April 2015, the distribution of this species was also confirmed on Hahajima Island of the Ogasawara (Bonin) Islands. This is the first record of this species in the mainland field area of Tokyo, although it had been recorded from Chichijima Island of the Ogasawara (Bonin) Islands.
