The purpose of this study was to analyze the thematic learning in the high school in physical education and sports course. First, we analyzed the thematic learning in terms of the theme-setting and the research approaches. Second, we conducted a survey interview two teachers who was in charge of the thematic learning. As a result, there was a commitment on the basis of the interest or questions by the students, and they tried to resolve themselves. In particular, because they were students in physical education and sports course and performed sports, they set the theme of the thematic learning focused on familiar issues. Moreover, as the research approaches the students who researched in a descriptive study and an experimental study increased. However, there were problems: the difficulty in theme-setting by themselves, to increase the motivation of students, the difficulty to continue, a lack of learning time.
