The Tokara Islands are located in the southernmost part of Japan, between KytlsbtI and the Loochoo Islands, and many zoogeographical subjects are there. One of the authors made an expedition to these islands during May and June in 1962, and collected nineteen species of butterflies. They are listed in this paper with some comments. The records previously reported are also reviewed from the literatures. Though the materials are scanty, the butterfly fauna of the Tokara Islands, especially of the Takara Islet, seems to be similar to that of the Amami Islands.
