In the Okinawa population of Pieris rapae crudvora Boisduval, the rate of pupal diapause was 44% under LD 10:14hr, but under photoperiods ranging from LD 11:13hr to 14:10hr at 20±1℃, they all averted diapause. The duration of the pupal diapause in the Okinawa population was shorter than in the Tokyo one.
