We counted haploid chromosome numbers of male specimens for 32 species of Riodinidae （Euselasiinae+Riodininae） collected from the neotropical region. The karyotypes vary from n=16 to 28 in 5 Euselasia （Euselasiinae） species and from n=6 to 34 in 27 species of Riodininae. The karyotype, n=6, in Mesosemia judicialis is the smallest in any species of Riodininae so far described.
