This paper reports a newly developed high-quality nonlinear optical crystal CsLiB6O10 (CLBO) that is
suitable for use in high-power deep-ultraviolet light sources. Reducing light scattering defects inside the
crystal effectively improves the ultraviolet-induced degradation resistance. 52-μJ 266-nm picosecond
pulses at a 100-kHz repetition rate were generated in the CLBO using a narrow spectral bandwidth
hybrid master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) that was seeded by a gain-switched laser diode as a
fundamental light source. The average power of 266 nm was 5.2 W, and the conversion efficiency from
1064 to 266 nm was 34%.
