Abstract
This presentation examines outreach practices in clinical psychology through a
mediation-oriented perspective, focusing on collaboration with legal professionals. When
clients at a counseling center also face legal issues, support goes beyond referrals to
lawyers. Clinical psychologists and attorneys may conduct joint interviews, facilitating
dialogue and mutual understanding, while attorneys may also serve as mediators in
family mediation involving conflicted family members. These practices highlight an
approach that emphasizes relational coordination and non-adversarial problem-solving.
The presentation discusses both the potential and the challenges of such
interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing complex client needs.
