Abstract
Many clients experience psychological distress stemming from interpersonal or social
issues, which are often intertwined with legal disputes; thus, legal and psychological
problems are closely interrelated. This paper advocates the importance of collaboration
between legal and psychological professionals and the provision of support from both
perspectives in such cases.
A shared understanding that balances psychological considerations with legal
realities is essential for effective collaboration. While a lack of coordination between
psychological and legal professionals may confuse clients, collaboration between
lawyers and psychological professionals̶based on mutual respect for each otherʼs
expertise̶enables more comprehensive and high-quality support.
