Exosomes, a subgroup of extracellular vesicles have emerged as novel intercellular communication tools. With increasing knowledge of the diverse roles of exosomes in biological processes, much attention has been paid to the development of analytical methods for exosome analysis. Here, I focus on molecular probes targeting exosome particles for its analysis, including the probes for surface proteins, microRNAs encapsulated in exosome particles and exosomal membranes.
