The magnetic coupling between TbFeCo and FeCo in perpendicular MTJs with RE-TM alloy films was investigated. Two specimens that had different crystalline orientations of FeCo were prepared. The first was TbFeCo/FeCo(001)/Ta, and the second was TbFeCo/FeCo(110)/Ta, and their magnetic properties were observed. We confirmed that the squareness ratio of specimens with FeCo(001) was about 9% higher than that of specimens with FeCo(110). In addition, the lattice constants of FeCo(001) films were observed, and we confirmed that FeCo lattices needed to be stretched perpendicularly to obtain appropriate squareness in perpendicular magnetic properties.
