Population decline and financial distress has progressed. Railways are strongly affected by them.

I took up “akita-nairiku line” continuation. The analysis has focused on the political changes in Akita Prefecture.

Continuation of railway may lead to political conflicts. However, Akita Prefecture, overcame political opposition by the continuation of the railway. This is rare case.
