The development of printing technology has been closely linked to the development of school education. Now, with the introduction of ICT (Information and Communication Technology), such as digital textbooks and tablet terminals, new transformations are taking place in the connection between printing technology and school education. In this paper, I consider these transformations from the viewpoint of education and printing culture in the era of active learning. In the dynamic information environment provided by ICT, it is difficult to stop considering or thinking over things carefully (interrupting activities), and also difficult to deepen discussion and thought by postponing the conclusion (postponement or repetition). Such interruption of activities and postponement and repetition of thinking are often possible by printed papers that can provide a static information environment. It is at this point that new importance is given to the printing culture. Therefore, in the age of active learning there is a possibility of giving a new meaning to the printing culture.
