Waterless lithography has attracted the attention of many people since the publication of “Driography” invented by 3M Co., in 1970. Waterless lithography was considered as a dream of a printer and many investigation were attempted for the realization of it for past ten years. Authors had investgated silicone pre-sensitised printing plate, which had a simple structure and photosensitive sillicone polymer layer a general constitutional formula was represented by followings.

((CH3)2-N-C6H4-C||O-C6H4-CH3|Si|CH3-C2H4-Si-O3/2)q=O
Property of phnto-sensitive polymer with various composition was cleared and two types of printing plate were invented, the solvent type plate and the peel apart type plate. Favorable composition was n=400, m=23, p=6, q=1 for the solvent type plate, n=400, m=23, p=6, q=0.5 for the peel apart type plate. Image quality of the peel type plate was affected by three factors, and interaction of those factors in the developing time seemed to determine image quality of it.
