For the purpese of studying the energy transfer between reacting gas molecules and a solid surface when the catalyti reaction takes place on the surface, the heat loss from the platinum ribbon was measured in the stoichiometric mixture of CO and O₂ under pressures in the range of 1-4x10^-2 Torr. and at ribbon temperatures of 291 and 358C. lt was found that the accommodation coefficients of both CO and O₂ stayed equal to shese observed separately in each gases through the heterogeneous catalytic oxidation of CO.
