Abstract
In studies on serum lipoperoxide and on the relationship to lipoprotein and lipid in serum, the following results were obtained; (1) TBA (thiobarbituric acid) values indicating increases of serum lipoperoxide were noted in patients with psoriasis vulgaris, xanthoma, acne vulgaris and oil poisoning “Yusho”, in significantly larger numbers than in the control group and also in patients with vascular disorders such as allergic vasculitis, Mondor’s disease and systemic lupus erythematosus; (2) Serum lipoprotein electrophoresis revealed that a considerable number of patients with psoriasis vulgaris and “Yusho” showed a type III pattern; (3) Significant correlations were not evidents between TBA and serum lipid values in simultaneously examined patients.
