In the upper end of the cadaveric femoral bone mesurments were made of the width of the lateral and medial cortex, and the bone concentration of the femoral head.
Lateral cortex was widest at about 6cm distal to the greater trochanter. The bone concentration was highest at the lateral femoral head and lowest at the lateral aspect of the femoral neck.
