Ten patients of tarsal tunnel syndrome had been treated by surgical decompression of the posterior tibial nerve. The causes of compression were ganglion, fascia, retinaculum and fat tissue. The postoperative clinical features of nine patients were better more than fair. As seven cases had been suffered from lumbar spine disease at the same time, it was difficult to diagnose tarsal tunnel syndrome and asses postoperative clinical features.
