We studied the cause, therapy, and prognosis of nineteen cases of the anserin's pain. The cases were treated from January 1984 to April 1988. Of these, eleven cases were anserina bursitis, four were exostosis of the medial condyle of the tibia and four were another disease. Five cases of the anserina bursitis were assosiated with minor trauma and sports. It is important not to overlook the anserina bursitis cases who have trauma and osteoarthritis. Three of four cases of bursitis were given symptomatic relief by injection of adrenocortical steroids. The patients with bursitis and exostosis, who were treated operatively (by removal) because conservative therapy was not effective, obtainal satisfactory relief of pain.
