Wheat grains were shown to contain seven kinds of glycosylglycerides. Monoglycosyldigly-ceride (MGDG) and diglycosyldiglyceride (DGDG) were the main components. Lyso-compounds, monoglycosylmonoglyceride (MGMG) and diglycosylmonoglyceride (DGMG), and acylated derivatives, acylmonoglycosyldiglyceride (AMGDG), acylmonoglycosylmonoglyceride (AMGMG) and acyldiglycosyldiglyceride(ADGDG), were minor components. Representative molecular species of MGDG and DGDG were presumed to be Gal (β1→3)-1, 2-dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol and Gal (α1→6)-Gal (β1→3)-1, 2-dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol, respectively.
