Abstract
It was revealed by the pr e sent study that neutrophils and eosinophils were demonstrable in the colostrum, that the colostrum bodies were entirely peroxidase negative, and that neutrophils arising from the parotid gland were identified by the methods of the specially-made suction cup as well as the tissue sections; absolute counts of leucocytes in 1.0 ml. parotid saliva of 20 normal human subjects ranged from 0 to 794. Furthermore, evidence was presented that the peroxidase stain is definitely preferable to the Romanowsky mixture for differential staining of the myeloid leucocytes in the degenerating stages.
