S. Chin observed on the outbreak of diphtheria epidemic in the southern parts of Taiwan, China in 1958. The total number of the cases observed amounts to 200.Through the observation, the following conclusion is reached:
It breaks out in Summer. Children aged from 2 to 5 years are most frequentlyattached with it (54.5%). Of these 200 cases, 68 are attached in the throat andlarynx; 48 in the nose and the rest in the others. It is indicated in my statistics thatthe death-rate reached to 3.5% of the patients.
