Abstract
Seven Patients (6 males, 1 female), who had undergone endonasal endoscopic reconstruction for fracture of the medial orbital wall, were studied. The fractures were right-sided in 4 and left-sided in 3 patients. CT and the findings during operation showed that the fracture site was confined to the region posterior to the third ground lamella in 3 patients while the site was posterior and anterior to that in 4 patients. In the former cases, diplopia was relatively mild. Other subjective symptoms such as eye pain and headache disappeared immediately after operation. The results suggest the importance and the usefulness of this surgery in avoiding technical problems in late treatment with complications in the paranasal sinuses.
